Details about Apple’s new smartwatch, the Apple Watch Series 11, which will be unveiled in September, are beginning to emerge. The device, expected to be announced alongside the iPhone 17 series, features significant changes to both hardware and software. The new-generation Apple Watch, which will be available with watchOS 26, is particularly notable for its innovations in health and connectivity technologies.

The Apple Watch Series 11 is equipped with a faster and more efficient processor. Apple’s new chip, called the S11, is designed with a more compact design. The chip’s reduced power consumption is expected to increase overall battery life.

In addition, a direct increase in battery capacity is also reported. The watch’s communication capabilities are also being improved. While current Apple Watch models feature LTE connectivity, the new models are expected to feature 5G RedCap-supporting modems developed by MediaTek. RedCap technology offers a 5G connection optimized for wearable devices, enabling more stable data communication with lower power consumption.

Another notable feature of the Apple Watch Series 11 is the improvements made to blood pressure monitoring. Apple has been working on blood pressure measurement for a long time. This technology may be available for the first time in the new model.

Apple’s biggest challenge in this area has been the accuracy of its measurements. However, these issues are considered to be over. Instead of directly providing blood pressure readings, the new model will detect conditions that indicate a risk of hypertension and warn the user. This system could play a role in the early detection of cardiovascular problems related to high blood pressure.

The new watch comes with watchOS 26. watchOS 26 includes new features powered by Apple Intelligence. One of these is Workout Buddy, an AI-powered trainer simulation created from the voices of Apple Fitness+ instructors.

This feature provides one-on-one motivation and provides goal-oriented feedback to the user during workouts. Workout Buddy requires an iPhone with Apple Intelligence support.

The watch’s interface has also undergone changes. A new design language called Liquid Glass is introduced with watchOS 26. Features such as the new control center, smart grouping system, and interaction with wrist gestures have also been integrated into the software.

The sleep score feature will be available exclusively on Apple Watch models with new hardware. This feature, which will not be included in watchOS 26, will be available with the Series 11.

The exact technical specifications and design of the Apple Watch Series 11 have not yet been released. The unveiling is planned for Apple’s traditional launch event in September. After taking a major step forward in the display sector with the Series 10, Apple appears to be turning to hardware-focused innovations with the Series 11.
